This is a photo is of…

This is a photo is of an 80 tonne marble box in the Serapeum of Saqqara, Egypt.

The Serapeum is roughly 15 meters underground and contains many such marble boxes.

In the photo you can clearly see the Egyptian government's efforts to cover the floors with wood and going around the box (they couldn't lift it).

The box was originally found as is and was never moved. In addition, no wooden rollers were found underneath it or anywhere else.

As far as I know, no one has even attempted to move it.

- Why was this box abandoned halfway?
- why is its lid, which weighs around 20 tonnes, found on the other end of the Serapeum?
- if this box was moved on rollers, why remove them before the box reaches its destination?
- How would you bring down an 80 tonne marble box (there's more than 5 of these in this place) from the surface all the way down into the Serapeum?
- Under the wooden flooring, you can see a sandy floor (not limestone).
- How many people would it take to push/pull such a box? How will they all fit in such a confined hallway?

In addition, all these marble boxes found here show signs of deformities in their outer surfaces, marble doesn't get deformed, even under high heat. Let me know and I will show you the photos.
